The Sunshine Blog Award!

Da Rulez:

~> Thank whoever nominated you. (thanks, Kim!!)

~>Answer the questions.

~>Pick five bloggers to answer your questions.

Kim’s questions for me

  1. Do you judge books by their covers? What is your favorite?

I do, highly. I think that nowadays, with all technology disposed for pretty much everybody, a nice looking cover for anything is a basic requirement. Besides, I read too much about psychology to believe that people are not affected by cover contents when picking up a book, sorry lol

I don’t have a favorite cover, but I tend to prefer real people over illustrations on books. Unless we’re talking about sugared historical romances. Then I simply love those painted looking covers, with all that Belle Époque feelings to them ❤

the truth about cassandra
something cheesy like this ❤ Oh, how I love these covers!
  1. What is your spirit animal?

That’s a hard one. I used to think that it was the snake. Then I realized that I may be a bear, as I am chubby, huggable, love to eat (especially salmon) and have a current record of 18 hours of straight sleep. But then I remembered how I can’t hibernate on winters and how I hate summers, so I came to the conclusion that I’m a cat.

wait a minute is that a baloon.gif

  1. Which Hogwarts houses do you belong to?

Slytherin. I chose it when I was only six and watched Harry Potter for the first time. Later on my life, every single quiz that I made confirmed my green and silver spirit. Even Pottermore put me twice on Slytherin – both on the old version and the new version of the website, haha!

  1. What is your worst fear?

To go blind. I’ve worn glasses since I’m three years old (with a five-year pause after I turned 14) and I’m terrified of not being able to read anymore.

  1. What is one thing you used to hate about yourself?

I’m detached. From everything. Sometimes, even from my books. I can’t bring myself to care about any subject for long, not truly. I haven’t changed, but I’ve learned how to cope with it. Maybe this is the way that my brain encountered to deal with the suffering and over excitement that every Leo goes through in life, haha!

i've been in love it's painful pointless and overrated damon salvatore.gif

  1. Black or White?

Black. You can’t go wrong with black ❤

see?
  1. Your all-time favourite animated movie?

The Swan Princess. But that’s a tough one, haha!

  1. Describe yourself in one word 😉

Nice.

i'm nice to everyone.gif

It can be a curse, trust me.

The Alphabet Book Tag!

Good morning! I’d like to start this post by saying that my friend Kim, from The Spines Breaker, has an amazing blog and writes awesome posts. And that’s why I’m doing today’s meme: because I have seen it on her blog, haha!

Welcome to The Alphabet Book Tag!

The Rules

Pick a book that is on your shelf or one that you have read in the past and fill out each letter of the Alphabet. The idea is to use books that you have either read or that are on your TBR list.

Let’s do this, haha! To make things more interesting, I organized my “read” shelf on Goodreads by alphabetical order and will use the first titles for each letter ❤

  1. A) Abandon, from Meg Cabot (Abandon #1)
  2. B) Back Alley Marine, from Brian West [don’t ask, please lol]
  3. C) The Calhoun Women: Catherine & Amanda, from Nora Roberts (Calhoun #1 & #2)
  4. D) Dangerous Spirits, from Jordan L. Hawk (Spirits #2) [REVIEWED!]
  5. E) Eclipse, from Stephenie Meyer (Twilight #3)
  6. F) Fame and Obscurity, from Gay Talese
  7. G) The Gentleman and the Lamplighter, from Summer Devon
  8. H) Happy Valentine’s Day, Sir, from J. L. Langley (Sci-Regency, #2.1)
  9. I) The Iliad, from Homer
  10. J) Jane Bites Back, from Michael Thomas Ford (Jane Fairfax, #1)
  11. K) Keeping Secrets, from Beth Beechwood (Hannah Montana, #1) [I love novelizations from TV Shows, judge me, haha!]
  12. L) Lady Lyte’s Little Secret, from Deborah Hale
  13. M) Madeline Hatter’s Story, from Shannon Hale (Ever After High, #0.4)
  14. N) The Naked Baron, from Sally MacKenzie (Naked Nobility, #2) [I feel the need to clarify that this is an historical sugared romance and not an excuse for porn, haha!]
  15. O) Object of His Desire, from Ava March (Somerville Park, #1) [and you thought that you were free from Ava March on this tag?! Hahaha!]
  16. P) The Passion According to G.H., from Clarice Lispector [this is a huge Brazilian classic, everyone should read Clarice ❤ ]
  17. Q) Quidditch Through the Ages, from J. K. Rowling
  18. R) Rafferty’s Bride, from Mary Burton
  19. S) Sanctum (Asylum, #2), from Madeleine Roux
  20. T) Taken by the Vikings, from Isabel Dare (Viking Sex Slave #1) [this is exactly what it looks like, unfortunately lol]
  21. U) Underworld, from Meg Cabot (Abandon #2) [WHAT. WERE. THE. ODDS?!]
  22. V) The Valley of the Lost, from Emily Rodda (Deltora Quest, #7)
  23. W) The Wager, from Sally Cheney
  24. X) X 1999, from CLAMP [I wanted to use only books, but it wasn’t possible lol]
  25. Y) You Loved Me At My Darkest, from Evie Harper (You Loved Me, #1) [the only one that is on my TBR pile, ugh. I didn’t know that I had never read a book starting with Y!]
  26. Z) Zone-00, from Kiyo Qjo [another manga, unfortunately]

I’m highly bothered by these last three letters! I’ll need to search books with X and Z and add them to my never-ending TBR. Hunf.

i'm done

That’s it, thanks for reading! Don’t forget to check Kim’s blog, The Spines Breaker 😀

The Book Courtship Tag

Hi, there! It’s Saturday and I couldn’t be happier! Besides eating my uncle’s famous barbecue today, this means that I’m going home tomorrow! Yay ❤

Today’s tag I saw at my friend Kim’s blog, The Spines Breaker. She didn’t tag me, but I liked this tag a lot and decided to do anyway 😀

Phase 1 – Initial Attraction: A book that you bought because of the cover?

5391115

The Awakening (Darkest Powers #2), by Kelley Armstrong. The hardcover volume was 7 dollars when I found it and I couldn’t resist, haha! Only later at home, I saw it was the second volume of the series and had to buy the ebook for the first one, haha!

Phase 2 – First Impressions: A book that you got because of the summary?

6282915

Angel Time (The Songs of the Seraphim #1), by Anne Rice. I found it highly interesting 😀 Let’s see if it will meet my expectations, as my last book from Anne Rice was a huge fiasco.

Phase 3 – Sweet Talk: A book with great writing?

IMG_7132

The Night World series, from L. J. Smith. Seriously, I love this woman’s writing style! You can check my reviews for books one, two and three 😀

Phase 4 – First Date: A first book of a series which made you want to pick up the rest of the series?

IMG_6897

Cemetery Tours, from Jacqueline E. Smith! It was so good and the end had such a cliffhanger that I almost cried in relief because I already had all three published books with me, haha!

Phase 5 – Late Night Phone Calls: A book that kept you up all night?

IMG_7693

My last one was Shearwater, from dear Derek Murphy ❤ Such a wonderful book!

Phase 6 – Always on my mind: A book you could not stop thinking about?

IMG_6773

Fangirl, from Rainbow Rowell. Even now, it still fills my head, as I’m dying to read Carry On!

Phase 7 – Getting Physical: A book which you love the way it feels?

IMG_7613

Widdershins, from Jordan L. Hawk. All the feels, all over the place, haha!

Phase 8 – Meeting the parents: A book which you would recommend to your family and friends?

Imagem2

Pride and Prejudice, from marvelous Jane Austen. So far, I convinced 4 people including my mom to read it, haha!

Phase 9 – Thinking about the future: A book or series you know you will re read many times in the future?

ec83452d22b2321e10c19eff22ccc1ea

All In With The Duke, from my loved Ava March. I can’t breath without this book in my life, seriously.

That’s it! Thanks for reading 😀 If you find this tag as fun as I did, don’t hesitate on doing it! You can say that I tagged you 😉

Real Neat Blog Award <3

Good afternoon, now! I hope your Saturday is still awesome, haha!

I was so honored to be nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award! How does my sweet friend Kim, from The Spines Breaker, came to find this blog neat, I shall never know, haha! LOL Thanks so much, Kim! ❤

real-neat-blog-award

Those are the rules:

Thank and link the person who nominated you. (thank you!)

Answer the 7 questions your nominator has provided.

Nominate 7 other bloggers and create new questions for them.

Kim’s questions for me:

  1. Favorite Winter reads?

My reading habits were never affected by season or time of the year – I don’t feel the need to read Christmas theme books now in December or beach themed books in summer (that is the currently season on my country, haha!). But I do prefer to read during winter than summer, as I don’t have an AC at my place 😦

  1. Winter hobbies?

Reading, eating pizza (I know, it’s pretty specific, haha!), watch cartoons on TV with a blanket on, drinking tons of hot cocoa… Yummy.

  1. Which country invented the toaster? Joking lol, Coffee or tea?

I highly prefer tea, as my stomach doesn’t agree very well with coffee for some odd reason. (And, if you insist, it was Scotland, haha!)

  1. Read at night or in the morning?

At night, as long as I can! 😀

  1. Your opinion on love at first sight? Or other book tropes (princess running away from arranged marriage, the nerd and the popular, the chosen one….)

I think that every cliché can be awesome in a book if well-worked. It relies on the writer to do the magic 🙂 I believe in love at first sight in books and I have a true fetish with nerd x popular, haha! The chosen one, on the other hand, I usually find a bit boring, but again, it’s up to the writer to do a good job convincing me 😉

  1. Most recent book purchase(s)?

My edition of Fangirl, from Rainbow Rowell, and this Barnes & Noble edition of Peter Pan ❤

IMG_6773
from my Instagram
IMG_6800
Peter Pan and Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, haha!
  1. Do you have a December tbr yet? If no, what is your current read and how are you progressing?

I do! And, so far, I’m late on it, damn. My currently TBR pile is on this post and I’m afraid that I was too optimistic with it… My currently-read is Cemetery Tours, by Jacqueline E. Smith, and so far, it is awesome! 😀

Nominated ones:

  1. Jess, from Mud and Stars
  2. Audrey, from Forwards and Bookwords
  3. Nicole, from Away in Neverland
  4. Jeany, from JeanyJanez
  5. Jenna, from Jenacidebybibliophile
  6. Rosema, from A Reading Writer
  7. You! 😀

My questions:

  1. Which are your favorite book genres?
  2. Which is your Hogwarts house?
  3. Are you afraid of porcelain dolls?
  4. Do you read ebooks? What do you think of them?
  5. If you were cursed and would only be able to eat one single thing for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
  6. For how long have you been blogging?
  7. Which are your favorite social media communities or sites? (Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, etc.)

Sorry, I was kind of random, but all of those are serious questions, haha! If you are not in the mood or don’t like to do tags, that’s okay! I just wanted you guys to know that I love your blogs 😀

That’s it! Thanks for reading and thanks again to Kim for the nomination ❤
