Top 10 Tuesday: Most Unfortunate Character Names

Hi, there! I gave up on caring about which time I post what, as which really counts is the posting, right? Yup, I thought so, haha!

toptentuesday

It’s Tuesday, so it’s Top 10 Tuesday day! This meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and my theme today is Most Unfortunate Character Names – yup, still a rebel and not doing the free theme, haha!

Before I start this list, I’d like to say that those are unfortunate names for me, because of something that happened in my life or someone that I met and didn’t like. It doesn’t mean the name is bad at all most of times 🙂

In no particular order, let’s begin:

 1) Severus Snape, from Harry Potter

harry potter series
from my Instagram

Seriously? Can you just imagine the amount of bullying poor Snape suffered thanks to his name as a child and teen? (And this one is just bad, honestly)

 2) Seth Andrews, from The Hidden Life [review here]

the hidden life 1

Seth was one of my favorite males ever, but WHY DID HIS NAME HAD TO BE SETH? This is the name of the God of Death in the Egyptian mythology and, as a good geek, I’m too used to think of Seth as someone evil 😦 Also, this was the name that I picked for all the bad guys in my childish Barbie plays, so I really have a negative connection with it… If karma exists, I shall marry a Seth someday.

 3) Peter Stoller, from The Fall and Rise of Peter Stoller [review here]

the fall and rise of peter stoller

Another case in which the name is not to blame. My family is from Germany, so I grew up with the German culture right beside me 24/7. One of the typical foods that my family loves is a sweet cake called Stollen, so I kept having ridiculous giggle attacks during the whole book – especially when I realized that Peter was just as interesting as the said sweet cake. Oh, and in my case, this is so not a compliment, haha!

 4) Rowan, from Rowan of Rin series

rowan of rin

I even mentioned this on the review of the first book [here]: this character’s name reminds me of Ronan, from the Grand Chase game, so I keep imagining said Ronan in the place of my darling Rowan, haha!

ronan grand chase
This is Ronan, haha!

 5) Eadlyn, from The Heir [review here]

the heir

Another case in which the name is just bad. I still don’t even know how to pronounce it! America for sure didn’t love her daughter to name her that way and I can totally understand why.

 6) Shelley, from What Lies Within [review here]

what lies within

Back to the “names are not the culprits” section. Shelley is an okay name… If you don’t watch The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon Cooper’s mom calls him Shelly and more often than not someone would call Shelley on What Lies Within and I’d smirk alone. I know, I’m stupid LOL

 7) Gabriel, from Viscount’s Wager [review here]

viscount's wager.JPG

I have a pretty messed up relationship with that name, as all the guys I ever met that had been given this name were jerks or assholes. So when my goddess Ava named one of her characters Gabriel and he also turned up to be a jerk and an asshole, I got depressed 😦

 8) Ned, from Bedding Lord Ned

Who in hell though it was a nice idea to nickname someone whose name is Edward with NED? Can someone please explain this logic to me? Besides being bad and totally random on my opinion, this name reminds me of a really stupid cartoon that I used to hate as a child, called Ned’s Newt. It was disgusting and I kept remembering it while reading this book – btw, the book is awesome, haha!

 9) Klaus Baudelaire, from A Series of Unfortunate Events

a series of unfortunate events

I save the best ones to the end, as my motive for this one is downward ridiculous. I actually like the name Klaus, it’s fancy and sounds manly, but I watched this soap opera when I was a child I’ve been sharing many childhood stories today, oops! called Chocolate with Pepper (a free translation from the Brazilian original title Chocolate com Pimenta) and the small city banker was called Count Klaus. What does this have to do with poor Klaus Baudelaire? Simple. Count Klaus was a poor ugly thing that was a sort of funny villain and was called an old goat by his poor fiancé.

conde klaus

Btw, this was one of the best soap operas that I have even seen, set in Brazil’s 1930’s. I wish I knew of a place that has it with English subtitles, you guys would laugh hard! Oh, and did I mentioned that the clothes were terrific? ❤

ANYWAY. Let’s drop the final bomb.

 10) Light Yagami, from Death Note

death note

Yes, this is a manga and not really a book, but I needed to put this character here. You’d think that it’s bad enough that his name is “Light”. Nope, you haven’t seen it all. Japanese people have the habit of putting last names before given names on everything, so he is called Yagami Light a lot. Still don’t think that’s bad? Try spelling it out backwards. Not convinced at all? Here, let me help:

IMAGAY LIGHT

If you still didn’t catch it… Try spacing it out:

I’M A GAY LIGHT

THERE, I SAID IT. IT IS SO BAD AND THE GUY IS ALLEGEDLY STRAIGHT HAHAHAHAHAHA

harry potter ronny hermione laughing

Ahem.

Thanks for reading and sorry that you had to put up with my silliness, haha! Which are some of the most unfortunate characters’ names for you?

Top 10 Tuesday: Books that made me cry

Hi, there! Good AFTERNOON! I DID IT, IT IS ON TIME AND EARLIER! I DESERVE A BIG HIGH FIVE!

tumblr_inline_nrn06lH7aB1qc22fu_500

Ahem.

It’s Tuesday, so it’s Top 10 Tuesday day! This meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and my theme today is Books that Made me Cry because I can’t seem to follow everyone else and do the right theme of the week lol

toptentuesday

So, I’d like to start this post by saying that I usually don’t cry reading. No, I haven’t got an heart of ice or anything like that. I just purposefully avoid reading books that I’m sure that will leave me utterly miserable and struggling to keep breathing between my sobs.

You see, when I was 14, I had a severe case of depression due family problems. One of the things that helped me going back on track and learning how to cope with my mind was reading – a pastime that has accompanied me since my birth, may I add. Ever since, I started to avoid obviously sad books like The Fault on Our Stars and such. It’s nothing personal, it is just one of the things I had to do to keep myself sane at the time and it is a habit that stuck up. I can deal with some depressing parts in a book, sad moments and deaths. But downward tragedy all the time hits too close to home, so no, thanks 🙂

All that being said, I still cry in books, a lot! And not only tears of sorrow, so I divided by ten books by type of crying – because I’m that much of an organizer freak 🙂

Sad tears

tumblr_m2j6homceD1rsbzr1o1_500

 1) The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak

a menina que roubava livros.JPG

This was the only purposeful sad book that I read knowing that it may end badly and I don’t regret it. I read it on 2007, when I was 12 or 13, and it was a recommendation of a sales’ guy from one of my favorite bookstores at the time, so I loved it. I don’t see myself re-reading it, though.

 2) The Last Olympian, by Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson #5)

percy jackson 4 e 5.jpg

You know, the series was ending, one of the most awesome characters died and I was feeling too overwhelmed by all the twists and awesomeness. And I still didn’t know that The Lost Hero was a kind of sequel to Percy Jackson series lol

 3) Daughter of Darkness, by L. J. Smith (Nightworld #2) [REVIEW HERE!]

the night world vol 1

Again, the fault is on the twist in the end. There isn’t anything downward sad about this book, but I thought the choice of the protagonists so tragic, brave and beautiful that it got me tearing up a bit for their destiny. Again, no deaths, no tragedy. I JUST FELT LIKE CRYING, I’M A REBEL!

Agony tears

agony.gif

Since I watched Into The Woods, I was DYING to use this gif, haha!

4) All In With The Duke, by Ava March (Gambling On Love #1) [REVIEW HERE!]

all in with the duke

Yes, you have read it correctly. My diva, my muse, made me cry. I just couldn’t see a happy ending for Max and Tristan in the first time that I read this book and I WAS DYING. Sometimes, I still cry near the end, haha!

5) Cambridge Fellows series, by Charlie Cochrane

Honestly? I don’t even know why I kept reading this series for so long. Despite being an historical gay romance series, the writing style wasn’t my cup of tea, the characters were pretty shallow and the drama got heavier and heavier. I lost count of how many times I was reading this as I was on my way to college and I started to weep in pure agony for the main couple. I just wanted to grab Charlie by her shoulders and shake her until she came back to her senses and stopped that madness, haha!

Frustration tears

tumblr dean crying 1

Fun fact about me: when I’m very sad, I grow quiet and simply won’t speak or do anything. I become numb. When I’m angry or frustrated to hell, I cry like there is no tomorrow. Therefore, these next books got more tears than the sad books did, haha!

 6) What Lies Within, by James Morrison [REVIEW HERE!]

what lies within

I really liked this book, but I was so overwhelmed when I got to the end and there were some mysterious lose ends that I broke. I started crying and screaming and swearing, haha! After a calming shower, I couldn’t stop saying to whoever wanted to hear how good and awesome and badass this book is, haha! Strong emotions lol

7) The Heir, by Kiera Cass (The Selection #4) [REVIEW HERE!]

the heir

I almost began crying in frustration in the middle of chapter one, when I realized how Eadlyn and I wouldn’t get along. AT. ALL. And yet, Kiera Cass was forcing me to put up with the brat using my love for The Selection and for America as an excuse. Eadlyn drove me so mad that there were a lot of scenes that I read while tearing up in pure and simple frustration. I can’t wait for the nightmare to be over in The Crown

Beauty tears

its so beautiful

8) Chasing Rainbows, by Linda Oaks (The Chasing Series #1) [REVIEW HERE!]

chasing rainbows

This book was Linda’s debut and my first from her. I was so surprised to see her beautiful writing style, so impressed to see how much Linda seemed to understand me and how much I connected with Addie, the main character, that I found myself emotional in like 60% of my reading time. I took notes of quotes and felt tears down my cheeks. Super cheesy and super true. Just read this book – or any of Linda’s works, really – and you will understand.

9) After Death, by Jacqueline E. Smith (Cemetery Tours #3) [REVIEW HERE!]

after death

Jacqueline’s writing is a piece of art by itself, but there was a scene near the end of this book that was my undoing. It was so emotional, beautiful and meaningful that I started crying and wouldn’t stop, haha! I just wanted to hug my iPad and never let go 🙂

Last, but not least…

PERFECTION TEARS

steve martin happy tears.gif

I searched my brain aka my goodreads read shelf for another case of perfection tears, but I think it only happened once so far.

And the Oscar goes to…

leonardo dicaprio great gatsby party celebration.gif

10) CARRY ON, by Rainbow Rowell! [REVIEW HERE!]

carry on rainbow rowell

This was the first and only time that I cried because of over perfection. And I’ve read my fair of books for someone of only 21. I scared my best friend, her maid and her mom with my crying crisis and book hangover after Carry On was over. I simply couldn’t, I needed more, that was too perfect to end. AND I SWEAR THAT THE END IS SWEET AND HAPPY AND CUTE! I’m the weird one that cries over… Perfection, as it seems.

tumblr_mudtn4E5pX1syeot2o1_500

I know, I know. That’s why I’ll just thank you for reading and stop writing now, haha!

Do you also categorize your types of crying over books? 🙂

The Characters Book Tag!

Hi, there! Good afternoon, hope you’re having a great Saturday 🙂 Saturday is book tag day here on the blog and my adorable friend Kim, from The Spines Breaker, tagged me on The Characters Book Tag! 😀 Thank you, Kim! I love all the tags you do, haha! Don’t forget to check out her blog, is amazing!! ❤

You can check the reviews for most books mentioned on this post by clicking on their respective titles. Except for The Crown, in which the link leads you to a nightmarish book cover.

Who is the best kick-ass character?

All time? DAMON SALVATORE. ALWAYS. FOREVER. In case you live in another dimension and don’t know who I’m talking about, he is from The Vampire Diaries series 🙂

12357_492155580833640_1022153505_n
I can’t even with this man.

Which character do you most dislike?

Hmm… That’s a tough one. I think I’ll have to go with Bella Swan, from Twilight. I just hate her so much, haha!

2BFF8AE2E2FEA21E2AA8F3095CAA

If you could date any fictional character, who would it be and why?

I hate to sound repetitive, but it will always be Damon.

tumblr_mdlei5YeIp1r4ud2fo1_250

If you could change a character in any way, what would it be?

I would change Clara’s denseness on Shearwater, Part One, from Derek Murphy (a.k.a. D. S. Murphy). Honestly, that girl drove me nuts until she found out she was a freaking mermaid, haha!

IMG_7693

What character made all the wrong choices and didn’t add anything to the book?

Eadlyn. I apologize to all the fans of The Heir, but I hated Eadlyn too much, haha!

IMG_3504

Besides, the cover for The Crown is giving me nightmares.

Which character was the best villain whom you love to hate?

Ash, from Secret Vampire and Daughters of Darkness. This guy is trash, but oh-so-beautiful trash… I swear he is Damon’s lost cousin, haha!

IMG_7132

Favorite sidekick character with the most heart?

Cash, from Stripped with the Vampire ❤ That guy just ruled sidekicking, haha!

IMG_6826

What is your favorite fictional romantic relationship?

I also hate to sound repetitive here, but my favorite couple ever will always be Max and Tristan, from All In With The Duke ❤ Or they shall be until Ava March outdoes herself again, haha!

ec83452d22b2321e10c19eff22ccc1ea

What character did you think was the strongest?

From my recent reads, I’d say Whyborne, from Widdershins. He faced many fears in the book and resisted many temptations. He is a true hero ❤

IMG_7613

Best protagonist?

I didn’t finish the book yet, but I already have a new chosen one: Integrity, from Gifted Thief. HONESTLY, THIS GIRL.

tumblr_mb641bl1iz1r1guvio1_500

I am in love. Review to come real soon, as I’m almost finished, haha! [UPDATE: review here!]

giftedthiefpic

Who do you tag?

Oh, boy. I’m lazy, haha! But I tag…

Jess, from Mud & Stars

Victoria, from Addlepates and Book Nerds

Mandy, from The Reading Diaries

Abby, from To Infinity and The Bookshop

That’s it, thanks for reading! Everyone is free to do or not to do this tag 😀 If you want to do it, feel free to say that I have tagged you ❤

Match Made in Mondays: I entered a weekly meme!

Hello, there! Can you believe this?! I just started to do my dear friend Audrey’s Monday memes, called Match Made in Mondays! I’m so excited! I hope I can do this often, haha!

match-mondaysAudrey is from the Forwards and Bookwords and the theme this week is: THIS CHARACTER from THIS BOOK + THIS CHARACTER from a DIFFERENT BOOK shipped (Despite potentially being from completely different worlds, what two characters do you just know would make an awesome couple?).

I confess that I usually don’t mix characters from books on a loving fashion. I think: “oh, this boy and this girl would rock ass being on the same school/work team” or “oh my, those two would be awesome buddies”, but never with love in the middle. Now I have to, haha!

I guess I would love to see Eadlyn, from The Heir, by Kiera Cass, struggling with Teag, from Secrets and High Spirits, from Lou Harper, because I think Eadlyn needs some lessons.

IMG_6194

I know what you’re thinking: but wasn’t Teag gay and all? Oh, yes, without any doubts and Bruce can tell you better than me, but the thing is that Teag is a control freak just like Eadlyn. It would be good for her ego to be put in her place more often than not by Teag. Or maybe both would kill each other’s to no ends and Bruce would have to attend to 35 boys. Either way, the outcome seems happy to me, hahaha! Besides, love born from hate is always hotter, haha!

But if Audrey asked me the same question on movie matters, my answer would pop out in two seconds: Jack Frost, from Rise of Guardians, and Elsa, from Frozen. Is she older? Yes. Is he immature? Yes. Are both totally cool without love? Yes. BUT THEY WOULD BE AMAZING FOR ME, SO I DON’T CARE!

this could be so real for me <3
this could be so real for me ❤

See? The artwork is from Deviantart, but proves well my point ❤ Dreamworks, Disney, PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN! Hahaha!

That’s it, guys! Thanks for reading and, next Monday, new topic!

The Heir, from Kiera Cass (The Selection #4)

Hello! Here we have another late book review from a very dear author: The Heir, fourth book on The Selection series, by Kiera Cass. I have this book since June, when it was released here on Brazil, but only in September I found an English edition. I’m spoiled with books: if I start reading the series in one language, I don’t like switching (I don’t speak many languages; I’m fluent on Brazilian Portuguese and English and can read Spanish and French, but that’s all, haha!). So I bought the Brazilian hardcover edition of The Heir but only read it when I bought my mass-market paperback edition. So spoiled.

from my Instagram :)
from my Instagram 🙂

The Story

Eadlyn was born with her destiny planned for her: she would be the first queen of Iléa. She was born to be great, to carry the world on her shoulders. She was the daughter of beloved America and Maxton. And it sucked. Eadlyn never could be a normal girl, being trained since birth to one single purpose in life and her destiny frightened her: why nobody thought of asking her what she wanted?

As if her daily life wasn’t hard enough, she finds herself trapped into her own Selection with 35 boys very excited to win her hand and the crown, running around her home and invading her privacy. Could things get worse?

Turns out that they can.

The analysis

Just remembering that those were my impressions and opinion while reading the book 🙂

I loved The Selection series. Really, madly. I read the three main books plus The Guard and The Prince in 5 studying/working days, in the time that I still did both – now I only study. I felt the series was very well completed when I finished The One, so you can imagine my surprise when I read that Kiera was working on a new book for it. I didn’t knew what to expect, honestly. The reviews were bipolar, the cover featured a different girl, I was so confused. Then I read it and it had a funny effect on me. I loved it at first, like I was enchanted while reading. I hated Eadlyn and still do, she’s just a bratty ungrateful and immature girl. But, as soon as I finished it, I gave it 5 stars on Goodreads, I was biting my nails to see what would happen on the “final” book for the series – after my experience with The One, I don’t believe in Cass anymore, haha! And, honestly? If she keeps releasing stuff from The Selection, I will keep reading it because I’m that delusional. Anyway, back to the point: now I think the book is worth 3 stars for a lot of reasons and I will tell the non-spoiler ones now.

I like Cass narratives. After 4 books and two short stories, I’m pretty sure of that. In The Selection, it is always in first person and with Eadlyn’s not different. As I have already commented before, this can be good and bad. I personally am not a fan of first person’s narratives because there’s always little holes on the plot. Of course I’m not holding this aspect against The Heir because there will be another book in the series, but it is frustrating. And you can’t have a break from the main character, so if you hate the person, too bad for you. It was the case with Eadlyn. I HATE HER. HATE. HATE. HATE. I wish I could make my typing even larger for this announcement, haha! But all in due time.

I loved the plot. A Selection with 35 boys?! COUNT. ME. IN. I liked the idea, it was nice to see America, Maxton, Maureen and Lucy again. A future queen with id problems at the age of 18 with a twin brother and other small ones? Come on, it’s interesting. And I was dying to know how Iléa fared without the castes. Oh, well. I still love the plot, Eadlyn was the problem. Yes, I will complain through the whole review and I regret nothing 🙂 But I have to say that the end was SO HUSHED. WHY?! Having another book following this on the series is not a good excuse and I hated what happened to America. One star was lost here.

Characters: EADLYN. EADLYN. EADLYN. That’s how the book goes. She is so selfish, self-centered, immature, bratty, spoiled and bossy that her thoughts are all about her. Seriously. I won’t deny that she grows up during the book, but oh, the road is very long for her. And the worst part is that she thinks herself perfect. No comments. But calm down, I can say things that I like about her as well. She saw the selection as an experiment with boys and I thought this was amazing, haha! She is not easily impressed and this helps to put some of the men on their places. She has awesome quotes when she’s being human. She fails and I love to see her failing. Failure is the most productive way of learning and Eadlyn needs it.

Now, the other characters: I blame America and Maxton for Eadlyn’s shitty personality. I still love them as a couple (I was never a big fan of Max’s, but I LOVE AMERICA), but they never put any limit to her and always bowed to her wills. There you go. I fell in love with half of the Selection boys and can’t remember their names anymore, haha! I hated Josie because I once had this friend when I was a child that copied EVERYTHING that I wore. And it wasn’t inspiration, it was COPY and I stopped talking to her when she started to tell people that her name was the same as mine *eye rolls* So, I understand Eadlyn’s irritation. Kile was brilliant and I hope he can do better than Eadlyn.

A pause for a cover appreciation. I love The Selection covers and Eadlyn is perfect on this one.

<3

This book for sure was made for the fans of the series, as it wouldn’t convince anyone from outside of the fandom to picking it up. Cass could and already did better. I hope the next book leaves me breathless again and not for a limited time only, like happened with The Eadlyn Heir. That should have been the title, haha!

3starThat’s it! Thanks for reading 🙂 Are you pro or con The Heir??

assinatura

Ps: I wrote the word Eadlyn 16 times during this review lol Will she think it is enough?

I met this book on a giveaway at Instagram, it’s mermaid themed. I looove mermaid themed books, but only read one so far. Why? 😦 Besides, it’s a fairy tale gone bad book! *–*

For now, that’s all for October. Another full month for readers! Which is your most anticipated release for this month? 😀

September Wrap Up and Book Haul!

Hello, there! I know, it’s been a while, but I’m on my last semester at college and my graduation is on DECEMBER. You can imagine that my life is a mess right now, haha!

Anyway, let’s talk about September! It was a more or less book month for me, as I am on the middle of a major slump, thanks to the books that I have to read for my dissertation – I’m two chapters away from being ready! I can’t wait to finish it! – so I read in a good pace in the beginning of September and stopped in the middle of the month, reading only some mangas and a Disney Comic Book :/

My book haul was much better this month: I bought a total of 8 books: 4 paperbacks, 3 mangas and 1 comic book 😀 Check it out:

  • The Heir (The Selection #4) – Kiera Cass (review here!)
  • A Mídia nas Constituições do Brasil: Respeito e Desrespeito – Erasmo de Freitas Nuzzi (a Brazilian journalistic book, so I don’t know if I will be reviewing it or not after reading it, haha!)

  • 2 Coloring books from Frozen 😉

  •  volumes 3 and 4 of Wish, by Clamp
  • volume 23 of XXX-Holic, by Clamp

(now I have the whole Wish collection! Yay! *–*)

  • And my Halloween comic book from Disney ❤

I also like to thank (again for the thousand time) Lauren Bird Horowitz, as she sent me a paperback copy of her new novel, Shattered Blue (review here!), first book in The Light Series! ❤ Thanks forever! This was the first time an author sent me a physical copy of a book, because I life in Brazil, haha! It was so special that I cried…

Anyway, the books I read this month:

  • Sigmund Shaw, by Mark C. King: 5 stars, review here!
  • Dangerous Spirits, by Jordan L, Hawk: 5 stars, review here!
  • The Heir, by Kiera Cass: 3 stars, review here!
  • The Bond Series (Bound by Deception, Bound to Him and Deliberately Unbound), by Ava March: 4 stars, review here!
  • manga Eerie Queerie!, volumes 1 to 3. [Update: review here!]

Yup, pretty disappointing. In October, I’m destined to have better numbers because I’m finishing my dissertation and I have to read about 8 books for that, more or less. So, Halloween’s month is going to rock hard!

That’s all, thanks for reading and I hope to be back soon with the reviews that I own… And stick around, because this week we have the monthly book releases list! *–*

June Book Haul!

Hello, everyone! I had to do a post here about my June book haul, as I went a little crazy this month… I bought 15 books, OMG! Hahaha!

Anyway, those are the new kids in town:

. Paris Secrets, from Zoé de las Cases

IMG_4065 A beautiful coloring book that stole my heart ❤ I already did some of the coloring, check it out:

IMG_4066IMG_4067

. The Little Prince, from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

IMG_4074This edition has a beautiful hard cover and features an illustrated biography of the author, it’s awesome ❤

. Deu no New York Times – Larry Rohter

IMG_4073This is a Brazilian journalistic book, gift from my bff @jenny.miers. It’s an analysis of how Brazil is viewed by outsiders, very cool. Thanks again for the gift, by the way 😀

. The Burning Bridge (Ranger’s Apprentice #2) – John Flanagan

IMG_4072I just finished reading The Ruins of Gorlan (Ranger’s Apprentice #1, review here!) and I fell madly in love with it. I had to get myself the next one, haha!

. The Heir (The Selection series #4) – Kiera Cass

my baby <3
my baby ❤

As a good fan of The Selection, I couldn’t resist to this beautiful hard cover Brazilian edition (even though my whole collection is in English and that I want to read The Heir in English as well xD)

. The Scarlets (The Asylum series #1.5) – Madeleine Roux

IMG_4071I went mad reading Asylum and Sanctum earlier this year and Catacomb, the third book in the series, won’t be out until September, so I have to hold my fire for now with the spin offs, haha!

. Austenland – Shannon Hale

This book has a funny story. I bought the second volume of the collection by accident (from the series saw the cover and bought it), but I didn’t have read the first and I’m very methodic. So, as soon as I could, I purchased this and started reading it (it was before my book jar-box thing xD). You can see my full review here!

Ps: here’s the next book, that started all of this:

. Pokémon Official Guide to Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby

IMG_4068I’m still trying to be the greatest Pokémon Master since the 150 first ones, so I felt I needed this to keep going on my mission, haha!

. Grey – E. L. James

IMG_4070This one I have to admit that I’m VERY curious to read. I’ve read Fifty Shades of Gray to do a book report for my college and I hated the main character. I always caught myself wondering what Christian would be thinking to fall for someone so obnoxious. Now, I will find out, haha!

. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty – Anne Rice

IMG_3387I’m a great fan of Anne Rice’s works, but I only learned about this book recently (like two or three years ago, when the whole fairy tale gone bad thing exploded). I LOVE fairy tale gone bad books and I think Rice’s will be a blast, once she is the master of the supernatural world ❤ You can check here more reasons to read it, haha!

. Great Women Writers Box

IMG_3348Another funny story, haha! I love to sign up for newsletters and, while checking one of them, from a local bookstore, I saw this beautiful box set with four books inside for an awesome price. Bought it in the act, haha! We have Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women and Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights 😀

IMG_3349IMG_3350 IMG_3351 IMG_3352

. Emma – Jane Austen

IMG_4075I am full of funny book stories this month, haha! My book jar-box told me that I would be reading Emma after I finished Ranger’s Apprentice #1. The thing was I only had it on a beautiful large and not at all logistic edition of the complete works of Jane Austen. My dad, seeing my distress in the first day reading the book, took me to the bookstore and told me to look for an edition of Emma that I could read, LOL. I love my dad ❤

Ps: this was the other edition:
