Object of His Desire, from Ava March (Sommerville Park #1)

Hi, there! Good Saturday to you and welcome to another Ava March book review! I decided to re-read one of my favorites from her on Thursday and, once again, I was breathless ❤ Of course that I’m talking about Object of His Desire, the first book in the Sommerville series *–*

from my Instagram 🙂

The Story

One week of pure torture.

That was all that Henry Shaw could say about his time on Sommerville Park, the propriety of marquis Arsen Grey. So much for a secret crush. Arsen was wicked, debauched and off all limits to Henry. And still, he had agreed to the marquis’ invitation to the blasted party. It was time to be over and done with his silly infatuation with Arsen. No use to love someone that would never love him back.

But can Henry so easily give up on such a gorgeous and impressive man?

One week of pure torture.

That was all that Arsen Grey, the marquis of Sommerville, could say about his party on his country house. So much for putting up a show for society. Especially when his eyes won’t leave one single person: Henry Shaw. The perfect man. Arsen was afraid that Henry would deny such invitation to his country house, but there he was, the only guest that hadn’t seen any kind of sheets action. It was time to be over and done with the wait. Henry Shaw would be Arsen’s. No use to keep waiting.

But can Arsen convince Henry that they can have a future together?

The Analysis

Just remembering that those were my impressions and opinion as a reader 🙂

As Dante would have said: “thy that here enters, leave behind all the hopes for a mature and impartial review”. He never said that. Not like that anyway. MOVING ON. My first book by Ava March was Bound by Deception and I read The Bound Series [review here!] in a rush after that, so my second series from her was Sommerville Park. For a long time, Henry and Arsen were my favorite couple from Ava, as they are just so sweet and caring and PERFECT ❤ (Okay, sorry, I’m fangirling like crazy again *takes a deep breath*). As I said several times before, it’s easy and hard to analyze a book that you’ve read so many times, as you already had so much time to overthink about it. Ava makes a point to show her reader how communication is important between a couple for them to work out and it was no different this time. In order to live their love, Henry and Arsen had to talk. And oh  dear, how did they talk… Without further ado, I declare that Object of His Desire is a five stars novella and that I really love it to the core ❤

The narrative follows March usual style: third person with switching points of view between Henry and Arsen. Ava works well into both characters personalities and he reader is left at a loss, as we need to tell Arsen how Henry feels and then we need to tell Henry how Arsen feels. Pride and fear are strong reflexes of the Regency society in which they live in, so the need of discretion on both parts breaks the reader’s heart. As a control freak, I prefer third person narratives, so I can always know what’s happening on both sides, haha!

oh mario if only I could control everyone the way I control you.gif
everybody has a bit of a Sheldon side, right?

The plot was simple, as most of March’s books. Regency era boy likes another boy, doesn’t know if loved boy likes boys too and decides to take a shoot. Also, all March’s books have a happy ending, which I really love, so there is no mystery there. All the focus goes to the couple, how they can work together and what they have to avoid to not break apart.

And the characters… I love both Henry and Arsen. Always did, haha! They are so different and yet so alike. Both are quiet people that long for love. There was no insta love in any parts, as their relationship had been growing for months prior the beginning of the book. It’s rewarding to see the moment when it finally blossoms and how they arrived there.

demi lovato give your heart a break lyrics.gif

Also, Henry is a darling. A really tall and big guy that likes to be the wallflower of the party and has an almost teen crush on the beautiful older guy. Of course he made it to My Bookish Boyfriend list ❤ I imagine him like one of those swimming guys from the Olympic season, you know? All size and gentleness *–*

david-gandy-advert.gif

And I imagine Arsen as being more refined and bored-looking, but slaying beautiful. He also made to my list, but I’m team Henry ❤ He lacks the honesty that Henry has – I’m fine with it, as he never lied to Henry, but you know what I mean. He’s… Jaded. Henry had his heart broken even more than Arsen and survived the experience without this eerie feel. So, yeah, team Henry, haha!

And then there are the sex scenes.

britney spears hot hot hot

March never ever disappoints and she makes a point to show that is perfectly okay for the couple to switch bed roles as they see fit. Also, as in all her works, there is so much love and desire involved on the love-making that the reader keeps sighing in pure satisfaction as the pages go. But I guess I’m too suspicious to say anything, haha! I love Ava too much, just as I love reading gay historical romances, oops!

Overall, if you like a really romantic couple, hot sex scenes, real and down-to-earth characters and Regency books, YOU JUST NEED AVA MARCH IN YOUR LIFE!

NEW BOOKS ALERT: Jordan L. Hawk announces upcoming new book series!

Hi, again! I’m back with serendipitous news ❤ One of my all time favorite authors, sweet Jordan L. Hawk, is working on a brand new book series and I’m here to give you all the juicy details about it ❤

The series is called Hexworld and has already two books planned: The 13th Hex, a prequel that Jordan wrote for the Charmed & Dangerous anthology, and Hexbreaker, the first never-published book in the series ❤ We already have hot covers, pre-order links and nice blurbs bellow, with the insights of Jordan about each book, so grab the popcorn and come discover the Hexworld with me!

The 13th Hex

Prequel to the Hexworld series

the 13th hex

Romance. Magic.

Murder.

Dominic Kopecky dreamed of becoming a member of New York’s Metropolitan Witch Police—a dream dashed when he failed the test for magical aptitude. Now he spends his days drawing the hexes the MWP relies on for their investigations.

But when a murder by patent hex brings crow familiar Rook to his desk, Dominic can’t resist the chance to experience magic. And as the heat grows between Dominic and Rook, so does the danger. Because the case has been declared closed—and someone is willing to kill to keep it that way.

The 13th Hex is the prequel short story to the all-new Hexworld series. If you like shifters, magic, and romance, you’ll love Jordan L. Hawk’s world of witch policemen and the familiars they bond with.

NOTE: This is a previously published work. The title, author, and/or publisher may have changed.

The 13th Hex was originally published as part of the Charmed & Dangerous anthology. Only minor details have been altered for this reissue.

What Jordan has to say about The 13th Hex:

“When I needed to write a short story for the Charmed & Dangerous anthology, my mind jumped to the 1890s and Roosevelt’s New York City. The result was The 13th Hex, a paranormal historical taking place in a world just an inch from our own, where Roosevelt is police commissioner over both forces: the regular police, and the Metropolitan Witch Police, staffed by witches and their shape-shifting familiars. As in our world, Roosevelt has made plenty of enemies, and it’s up to a hexman and a crow familiar to clear an innocent man and find the real culprits behind the thirteenth hex.”

Hexbreaker

First book in the Hexworld series

hexbreaker

Will a dark history doom their future together?

New York copper Tom Halloran is a man with a past. If anyone finds out he once ran with the notorious O’Connell tunnel gang, he’ll spend the rest of his life doing hard time behind bars. But Tom’s secret is threatened when a horrible murder on his beat seems to have been caused by the same ancient magic that killed his gang.

Cat shifter Cicero is determined to investigate the disappearance of one friend and the death of another, even though no one else believes the cases are connected. When the trail of his investigation crosses Tom’s, the very bohemian Cicero instinctively recognizes the uncultured Irish patrolman as his witch. Though they’re completely unsuited to one another, Cicero has no choice but to work alongside Tom…all the while fighting against the passion growing within.

Tom knows that taking Cicero as his familiar would only lead to discovery and disaster. Yet as the heat between them builds, Tom’s need for the other man threatens to overcome every rational argument against becoming involved.

But when their investigation uncovers a conspiracy that threatens all of New York, Tom must make the hardest decision of his life: to live a lie and gain his heart’s desire, or to confess the truth and sacrifice it all.

What Jordan has to say about Hexbreaker:

“It’s not something I mention often, but I try to challenge myself in some fashion with every book. One of the things I’ve never done before is write a series focusing on different main characters in each book, even though that’s a common practice in romance.

When I wrote The 13th Hex, people loved Dominic and Rook—but they also loved Cicero, Rook’s cat-shifter friend. He shamelessly stole most of the scenes he was in, then immediately began to pester me for his own story. I’m used to being bossed around by cats, so I got to work.

All of which is a round about way of announcing Hexbreaker, the first full-length novel in my new Hexworld series, starring Cicero and his witch. Tom Halloran is an unpolished Irish patrolman with a secret past. When a series of unnatural deaths bring them together, Tom must choose between doing what’s safe…and doing what’s right.

(And don’t worry, Dominic and Rook fans—they make several appearances throughout the book.)”

ISN’T THIS A BLAST?! I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED! I haven’t had the change of reading The 13th Hex on the Charmed & Dangerous anthology, so I’m pinning badly for those releases ❤

Oh, and before I say my goodbyes (you know, for this post), here’s the books I already reviewed from Jordan:

HAWK, Jordan L.Dangerous Spirits, Spirits #2 (review here!)

Widdershins, from Jordan L. Hawk (Whyborne & Griffin #1)

Hello, there! Despite the awful beginning of the day with the news about Alan Rickman’s death (Rest In Peace, dear Alan!), life must continue and I’m happy to say that I took refuge in a wonderful book to sooth my sorrow. My dearest chosen was the first book in the Whyborne & Griffin series from the awesome Jordan L. Hawk, Widdershins.

IMG_7613
from my Instagram 🙂

The Story

Percival Endicott Whyborne wanted nothing more of life in general. A quiet and awkward academic, his work at the Ladysmith Museum and his studies of several dead languages (13 spoken, but he could read more) were enough to occupy his thoughts and his empty existence.

That is, until nosy and charming detective Griffin Flaherty invaded his life and dragged him into a very obscure and dangerous mystery. Now both men have to work aside each other to prevent humanity of collapsing in the hands of a very old secret society with a very lively founder.

The thing is that both Whyborne and Griffin will have to decide whether their heated relationship have more to meet the eye or will be over as soon as they finish up the case.

anigif_enhanced-buzz-5351-1389581734-11

The Analysis

Just remembering that those were my impressions and opinion as a reader 🙂

I have already read two books from Jordan, both in the Spirits series: Restless Spirits and Dangerous Spirits (review here!). So, I was prepared for a wonderful writing style and awesomely built characters.

Avril18

But nothing prepared me for Whyborne and Griffin.

It all started with the narrative style: first person thought the eyes of Whyborne. If you follow the blog for a while, you know that this is not my preferred narrative style. I often find it to be lacking in the story and limiting. Not the case at all! The fact that we could only live the drama through Whyborne’s eyes made it all more interesting. We second-guessed Griffin’s amour intentions, saw the double face of the truth and watched as Whyborne had to develop to solve the case. But I’ll get there, haha!

The plot was amazing. It was simply brilliant and completely connected. I didn’t find any loose ends on the mystery os even the characters, for that matter. And this is a freaking book series, where any loose ends were forgivable! =O

Seriously, this book!

anigif_enhanced-buzz-9646-1387064448-0

Ahem.

So, the characters. As I had stated previously on this post, I was sure I would love Whyborne and Griffin simply because I can’t imagine a world where I would not like a character built by Hawk. At first, I thought Whyborne too shy, to neurotic and afraid of breathing; don’t get me wrong, it’s an accurate description. I could never imagine his blossoming through the story, how his love for Griffin made him braver and confident. And the same goes to Griffin: he may have been at ease and chatty, but has his own ghosts, some of them far worse than Whyborne’s. He also faced many fears in behalf of his lover and, on this point, their kind of romance reminded me the ones that my goddess Ava March writes. The couple was lacking something before they found true love and their love makes them better people. Needless to say that, besides adding two more bookish boyfriends to that legendary list of mine, I also gave my heart to this series ❤

tumblr_mzpkp5jiVj1rb4ssdo1_500

I also thought that I would prefer Griffin over Whyborne and I’m astonished that Whyborne managed to steal Griffin’s spotlight with me, haha! Oh, and I also can’t go through this review without mentioning Whyborne’s bff, Christine! She is a blast ❤ I identified with her in so many levels, I wish she’d appeared more… For you guys to get her essence, I’ll leave the explaining task to Ariana Grande:

tumblr_nppj5kekC61rxdmt1o1_250

This is Christine all over, haha!

And there is the ultimate villain. Jeez, I need to catch my breath, haha! How awesome is that his only flaws are being in a need of a fingernail cut and to want world domination? Honestly, I would have loved to see a sex scene between him and Whyborne, omg. Don’t get me wrong, I love Whyborne with Griffin and regret nothing that happened in this book, but a girl can dream, haha! I love sex scenes where desire and hate are mixed into pleasure (not rape, just the sheer need of having the body of a fellow that you could fire in the head to kill). I shan’t reveal the villain’s name for the sake of spoilers, but he is hot.

And, as I already hinted in the last paragraph, let’s now analyze sex scenes! The last books I had been reading lacked those, so I rather missed them, oops! Also, it has been a while since my last gay book, so I was double happy with Hawk’s work 😉 One thing I adored was that Whyborne and Griffin took it slow in bed. Whyborne was a virgin and remained that way even after their first sexual plays. It was lovely ❤ Griffin was the top in this book, but hinted that he’s the type that likes both ends of sex making, haha!

tumblr_lk8gi6xE411qfxq87o1_500

Ahem. I seem to be a little carried away today, I apologize.

Overall, this is a very good mystery book. Yes, there is romance, but it’s not its solemnly focus. I’d say this is a story about friendship in the first place and how relationships change over time. Not just in a romantic way 🙂

Well, that’s it! Thanks for reading ❤ Have you read Jordan L. Hawk’s books?

An explorer at heart, former university professor Phillip Singleton’s adventures have only taken place in his imagination—until recently. Dark-haired, black-bearded Carne Treleaven might have been hewn from the very rock his name describes, and Phillip is eager to discover more.

Carne has little patience for the awkward, dreamy professor, an outsider who must be steered away from local secrets. He agrees to serve as a guide to seaside caves where smugglers once operated only to keep Phillip away from more recent activity.

As personalities clash, secrets unfold, and riches are revealed, the two polar opposites find the point where their similarities lay. Carne’s old beliefs are shattered by his attraction to a man and he must decide if he’s willing to take a huge step outside his familiar life and into a brand new world.

Convincing the Secretary, from Ava March (London Legal #3)

Good night! I know, the blog is on fire, haha! And it is about to burn all the way up because the reviewed book of the evening is HOT HOT HOT!

Ahem, do you remember when I did this mega post talking about the release of Convincing the Secretary, third book in the London Legal series, from Ava March? So, Ava sent me a copy two days ago as an early Christmas gift and allowed me to open and read it on the spot! 😀 ❤ Thanks so so so much, again!

I finished the book on the same day, but Ava plays so hard with my emotions that I needed to breathe before posting this review, haha!

Favim.com-509071_large

Ok, I’m in control again. Without any more giber jabber, let’s do this and THANKS AGAIN, I LOVE YOU, AVA! ❤

The Story

Edward Fenton has always fantasized about a lasting relationship with someone that he truly loved and that felt the same way towards him. At first, his boss Arthur Barrington sounded like the perfect choice for his dream to come true. Except that the man is already way taken by his lover, Leopold Thornton. One can’t win them all.

With the arrival of a new solicitor in Barrington’s office, Edward is relocated as his secretary. Lord Grayson is the perfect definition of tall, black and handsome and sends Edward’s imagination to depths that he never knew himself capable of. But can a relationship with such a powerful man work out the way Edward dreams of?

Gray, in the other hand, knows he found the perfect match in the moment he understands Edward’s interests on him, but how to convince the young man that he is Mr. Perfect?

anigif_enhanced-buzz-5351-1389581734-11

The Analysis

Just remembering that those were my impressions and opinion as a reader 🙂

Ava always catches my heart unguarded. I was completely okay with life, minding my own business, when I opened my e-mail and saw her gift. As the book isn’t going to be published until March of 2016, I was trying to lead a mental healthy life without being too much of a goner and counting the minutes for the pre-ordering to start on Amazon. But the heart attack was so worthy! This book was awesome! It is a short book (my copy had 100 pages), but the romance is so intense that you are breathless for the whole time! (Or maybe I was, because it was a gift from my favorite author and a book that I already knew about for quite a while.)

tumblr_mi6p6hjkfe1qmn01to1_500

I’ll try to be professional now, but I won’t promise that I’ll be impartial, because that’s impossible when working with perfect books. #justsaying

I really love March’s narrative style. Third person, alternating points of views between the couple present in the book ❤ Both Edward and Gray had their own minds and you could see who was doing the thinking very clearly. Once again, March showed how important is communication in a relationship, as words unspoken do the damage in both men’s feelings.

The plot was simple, but not obvious, not for me. I mean, okay, boy meets boy in the 19th century, boy is not sure if other boy likes boys as well, both give the relationship a try and things go wrong. To explain why I wasn’t very sure of the outcome of this particular work of March, I’ll have to talk about the characters, so hold that thought. Back to the plot, we get to see Arthur and Leopold again, which was awesomely cool (I always like to see my boys again; those two are the heroes of the first books in the series, Convincing Arthur and Convincing Leopold, respectively). There were no loose ends; it would have been nice to know a little more about Edward’s and Gray’s past, but no information was lacking inside of the proposition of the book.

The characters are the best part. You see, in a regular March novel, you’d have two individuals that really need to find true love, that feel incomplete and don’t know what they need until they meet their soul mates, for say. On this book, it was different. Both Edward and Gray are pinning for a happily ever after, but not necessarily with each other. Gray realizes faster that he needs Edward, that Edward is the one, but Edward was more down on the earth. He felt the need of having Gray around, but could (cof and did cof) survive a break up with him without dying the emotional death of break-ups, you know? Honestly, Edward impressed me. He made a cameo appearance previously in the series and I never paid much attention to him, he was so… Bleak? Haha! But being inside of his head, it all made sense and oh boy, he grows up SO MUCH! He is officially one of my favorite males from March now ❤

Gif-6-18-supernatural-21310553-400-225
I always like her males, for God’s sake…

And, dealing with a book written by March, I can’t treat sex scenes as a bonus point, because they are always there and she never EVER disappoint her readers. Did I mention that NEVER happens? Okay, haha! Since the beggining, the bed roles between Edward and Gray are pretty clear and I was waiting for them to have a kind of Oliver and Vincent relationship behind closed doors. Once again, I was wrong! =O I mean, none of them gets to really submit and I thought that AWESOME. Neither was the “fragile” part, always so equal even inside of the bedchamber. AVA, YOU ROCKED HARD!

Bonus point: oh, this cover. Do I need to say more?

IMG_6850
also from my Instagram! 😀

Overall, I knew I would love this book since Ava told me she was beginning to write it and I did, a lot. Ava, Thanks again for sending me this, it was the best Christmas present EVER! 😀

December’s new books!

Hi, there! Am I the only one that already is head over heels for Christmas?!! ❤ It’s my favorite time of the year, as I got to be with my family (we live very far from each other, unfortunately), the food is awesome, the weather is great (we are in the middle of summer in my country, haha!) and I’m on vacation ❤ Best time ever!

Anyway, the releases for December are truly hot, we readers will have to sell some organs to have them all this month, haha! (just kidding. Or maybe not ;D) I apologize in advance, as there are MANY mass-market historical romances in my list this month, but I regret nothing, haha!

Those are my highlights:

Day 1

The Captain’s Christmas Bride, by Annie Burrows

25785343

A fast and funny read Christmas themed. Perfect for the month!

Death’s Leash (Hellhounds #1), by J.D. Stroube

12201028

Heavily-photoshoped-cover aside, I found this book very interesting. Since I’ve read Meg Cabot series Abandon (if you haven’t, PLEASE READ, IT IS AWESOME!), I got more interested in this genre that explores Death’s servants and all. The cover could be better, but the book itself promises a lot!

Forgetting August (Lost & Found #1), by J.L. Berg

25058499

I usually wouldn’t pick up this kind of contemporary romance, it’s not my favorite genre. But I don’t know, something in this book just calls my name, haha! Have to read it!

The Holiday Courtship (Texas Grooms #7), by Winnie Griggs

25785950

Another Christmas themed mass-market romance that got me curious. I mean, the female character won’t accept a marriage proposal even loving the man? I need to find out why!

How to Seduce a Scot (Broadswords and Ballrooms #1), by Christy English

25382850

If there is ever a Monthly Hot Releases list in my blog without a mass-market historical romance, call the police because I’m dead and someone replaced me, haha! This one had me with its ever so funny blurb, haha! I already love the idea of Alexander and Catherine together!

In Search of Scandal (London Explorers #1), by Susanne Lord

25383003

I got highly interested on the personality of the main female character, Charlotte. It feels like she will run Will over, haha!

A Lady’s Guide to Ruin (Birch Hall Romance #1), by Kathleen Kimmel

25348673

This historical romance seems slightly deeper than the others of this category that are present on this list, as the main female character is a runaway from a mental institution. All eyes on this one!

Médicis Daughter: A Novel of Marguerite de Valois, by Sophie Perinot

23848325

Historical romance + Paris + The Médicis + Intrigue and Death = I need to read this!

One Rogue at a Time (Rakes and Rogues #2), by Jade Lee

25383021

I liked that both main characters in this romance aren’t from London’s high society. I would love to see what they are going to do to go up on those stairs, haha!

The Painter’s Daughter, by Julie Klassen

24974122

I love historical romances and this one, although having a dramatic tone, seems awesome!

The Rosemary Spell, by Virginia Zimmerman

23719268

I saw that my dear friend Jacqueline E. Smith wanted to read this novel and I got curious, haha! The synopsis could be better, but left me wondering anyway.

Time of Departure: A Novel, by Douglas Schofield

23848353

This sounds like a mystery thriller and I love those! I have to read this genre more in the future ❤

Your Beauty Mark: The Ultimate Guide to Eccentric Glamour, by Dita Von Teese and Rose Apodaca

13623723

I LOVE DITA VON TEESE! She’s one of my personal idols and I’m totally partial to her: I think she is beautiful, talented, funny, stylish, an example. I need to read this book!

Day 8

Ashley Bell (Ashley Bell #1), by Dean Koontz

25241477

I don’t know this writer or this series or anyone that has already heard of this. So, what got my attention? The fact that this cover uses the same picture as one of the Brazilian editions of Twilight, last book of the Mediator series, by Meg Cabot:

amediadora6

I like this picture, so I had to know what this book was about and sounds nice! If you already heard anything of it, please tell me ❤

Inherit the Stars (Inherit the Stars #1), by Tessa Elwood

25463009

This is a sci-fi dystopian book that I found on Goodreads and sounds different, haha! I’m not really a dystopian person (please don’t kill me) and I read less sci-fi than I wished, but this book, the first in a series, sounds like a good bet!

Lord Dashwood Missed Out (Spindle Cove #4.5), by Tessa Dare

26115826

I’m sure this book will rock! A woman that writes an open letter to all women about the boy next door that has never even looked at her way? AWESOME! I need to read it ❤

Planetary Submissives series, by Amber Kell

planetary submissives series

This series was previously released in 2012 and it has passed through re-editing, that’s why I added it to my list 🙂 I know Amber Kell from ads on the end of other m/m books that I already read, but never read anything by her. This series got me curious, so here I go! Nothing like a bit of dystopian BDSM to relax a person, haha!

Queen Victoria’s Mysterious Daughter: A Biography of Princess Louise, by Lucinda Hawksley

23848119

I love to know more about royal families, I find them highly interesting. I didn’t knew of Princess Louise existence until I find this book and the synopsis had me in a cliff already, haha! It will be awesome to know more about her!

The Wilderness of Ruin: A Tale of Madness, Fire, and the Hunt for America’s Youngest Serial Killer, by Roseanne Montillo

23498271

This is a non-fiction book that I stumbled on internet a while ago and knew that would be awesome, haha!

Day 11

Maelstrom (Whyborne & Griffin #7), by Jordan L. Hawk

27799890

I’ve become a big hardcore fan of Jordan L. Hawk since her Restless series (you can see my review for book number #2 here), and I’m dying to start Whyborne & Griffin, I even bought the first book and it will be on my January TBR, so I’m celebrating ahead that there are seven books in the series, haha! (I don’t think I made much sense here, oops!)

Day 15

Changeling (The Faewyld #1), by Leigh Teale

25990350

Since I’ve read Shattered Blue, from Lauren Bird Horowitz (review here!), I’ve got totally interested in the Fae’s world. When I found this book, I knew it would be perfect!

A Seditious Affair (Society of Gentlemen #2), by K.J. Charles

25241403

I met K. J. Charles through Twitter and I just knew I had to read her work asap! I’m going to buy the first book in this series as a self xmas present and highly recommend this series for anyone that likes gay historical romances, like I do ❤

The Violinist of Venice: A Story of Vivaldi, by Alyssa Palombo

23848300

Hm, I guess it is pretty obvious by now that I really love historical romances, even when they are based on true stories, right? Haha! I love Vivaldi’s music and will love to dive deeper on his world ❤

Untamed (Splintered #3.5), by A.G. Howard

25105196

So, I’m dying to start this series too (such beautiful covers!) and I couldn’t leave this book out, right? Haha!

Day 18

Scoundrel of Dunborough (The Knights’ Prizes #3), by Margaret Moore

25897453

My history with Margaret Moore is old and special, haha! The first mass-market historical romance of my life was written by her (The Welshman’s Bride). Not my best read, but it was the one that made me read one after another and find my favorites (I did a post about that a while ago with my top 5 favorite ones). I don’t know this series that she is currently writing, but the theme is the same of the two books that I read from her and I can tell you this: Margaret is AWESOME at Medieval romances, okay? If that’s your genre, give her a go ❤

Day 20

Royal Savage, by Victoria Ashley

27067323

At first, I was drawn by this amazing cover, but the synopsis did little to hold my interest. And then, I got curious: how a book with a kind of lame synopsis is rated on 4.94 stars* so far?! I have to see what those people loved about this story! #thespiritofajournalist

Day 29

Dukes Prefer Blondes (The Dressmakers #4), by Loretta Chase

23349989

Another one of my historical romances set in 19th century London and I regret nothing! ❤

Feeew, that’s it! Thanks for reading! So many books, so little money, haha! Do you already know which books are you buying for Christmas??

The Shepherd and The Solicitor is already available! *–*

If you follow me for a while, you may have noticed that I freaking love gay historical romances and, for those that share this love, I have wonderful news!

Bonnie Dee and Summer Devon just released a new book together (I talked a bit more about their partnerships here), called The Shepherd and The Solicitor. Ok, I’m trying to stay calm, BUT OMG, I AM SO EXCITED! I can’t wait to read it *–*

And here it is!

Here’s the sipnoses available at Goodreads:

When a storm is brewing, taking shelter could be the most dangerous move of all.

One careless, public sign of affection cost Daniel Pierce’s lover his life at the hands of a hate-filled mob. Grief-stricken, Daniel retreated from society to a sheep farm in the wilds of the north. Years later, Gregory Tobin erupts into his solitary life.

Sent to confirm the existence—or the death—of the Pierce family’s lost heir, Tobin isn’t sure he’s found the right man. The gruff, shaggy hermit calling himself Jacob Bennet bears little resemblance to photographs of the younger Pierce. Tobin needs more time to study his quarry.

With lambing season in full swing, Daniel grudgingly admits he could use an extra hand. Through a long, exhausting night, they parry back and forth as Tobin probes closer and closer to the truth. And something beyond casual attraction simmers between them.

They come together in a crash of desire, but ultimately Daniel must overcome the terrors of the past to reconcile the man he was with the man he’s becoming—a man capable of loving again.

Warning: Many sexy encounters on a sheep farm—NO, not like THAT!—between two adult males with temperaments as different as night and day.

AWESOME, RIGHT?! If you like this genre, you can’t go wrong with Bonnie and Summer, really. The book is available in paperback and ebook version at:

Amazon

Barnes & Noble

iBooks

Kobo

All Romance

I just need it.

That’s it, thanks for reading! Do you like this genre too? ❤
