Hello, dearies! We have here another powerful edition of the mini reviews post =D This time, however, the macro theme will be Young Adult books that I have read recently =)
Just remembering that the mini reviews deal is a combination of inspirations from Cait, of The Paper Fury, and from Lindsey, of @thepagemistress, and that I do those with books that were good, but weren’t unforgettable =)
In this post, you’ll find mini reviews for:
Elizabeth Rudnick – A Frozen Heart
Emily Rodda – The Key to Rondo (Rondo #1)
G. K. DeRosa – Wilder Destiny (The Guardian #2)
John Connolly – The Book of Lost Things
Kiera Cass – The Siren
Laini Taylor – Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #1)
Shannon Hale – The Unfairest of Them All (Ever After High: Storybook of Legends #2)
Hello, there! You know those books that you like instantly? Well, it was my case when I saw the cover for Frozen, by L. A. Casey! I knew I had to participate in the book birthday that Love Affair With Fiction had arranged and here we are ❤
There’s one must-have toy this Christmas, and Neala Clarke has told her niece Charli she’ll get it for her. Never mind that she’s got less than a week and it looks like everywhere is sold out. She’s promised Charli a Fire Princess doll—and Neala is a woman of her word.
Darcy Hart is a people-pleaser. So when his adorable six-year-old nephew, Dustin, asks for a particular doll at the last minute, he says yes. Luckily for Darcy, there’s one left in stock at the local toy store. Unluckily for Darcy, he’s not the only person who wants it—and his rival is the one woman who’s immune to his charms.
Neala and Darcy have loved to hate each other since they were kids, and they’re both willing to do whatever it takes to get that doll. This can’t possibly end well for both of them…can it?
***Revised edition: This edition of Frozen includes editorial revisions.***
Frozen is available at Amazon only, but in all formats your heart shall desire: ebook, paperback and audiobook! 😀 Also, you can read it on Kindle Unlimited!
I narrowed my eyes to slits because he was merely feet away from me.
“Excuse me, are you blind? I’m standing right here, and I was talking to this fella before you were,” I sneered.
Darcy leaned to the left and looked around the lad to see who was speaking to him, and when his eyes landed on mine they instantly narrowed.
He always spat out my name like it left a bad taste in his mouth.
I smirked at him. “The one and only.”
Few things sound better in a book than a love born out of hate ❤

Hello, there! Today we are going to navigate among my bought and read books of October! Yay!
I was a very good girl this month and read a total of 12 books; 10 books and 2 comics. I told you in my September’s wrap up that October was my month, haha! I also received some new books in exchange for honest reviews, but all in due time!
In shopping matters, October was practically non-existent – honestly, I didn’t even got out to the bookstore, you know? And I’m not making online shopping lately, as I don’t have the time either, haha! I bought 2 mangas, 5 comic books, 1 coloring book (call me obsessed) and one sticker album, because I’m a child, haha!
I managed to not read a single manga this month, which is impressive for my standards, and I already wrote two of three reviews expected to October. Go, me! ❤ The first Bound Series’ review will be up until Friday, Nov. 6th, with luck.
I already reviewed a book from Linda, Chasing Rainbows (link here), and a book by James, What Lies Within. Thanks so much for the trust, guys! Just wait my vacation, haha!
My currently readings are The Night Clock, by Paul Meloy, which I received through NetGalley (thank you!) and Finding Forever, because its release was on Oct. 29th. I’m positive that FF review will be up on the blog on Nov. 8th and The Night Clock, on Nov. 5th. But let’s see, right? Hahaha!
I also would like to start a countdown here. I deliver my dissertation on Nov. 10th, which means that this will be seven days from this post. CHEERS FOR FREEDOM!
Ahem, that’s it! Thanks for reading and Happy November!
Hello, there! Can you believe this?! I just started to do my dear friend Audrey’s Monday memes, called Match Made in Mondays! I’m so excited! I hope I can do this often, haha!
Audrey is from the Forwards and Bookwords and the theme this week is: THIS CHARACTER from THIS BOOK + THIS CHARACTER from a DIFFERENT BOOK shipped (Despite potentially being from completely different worlds, what two characters do you just know would make an awesome couple?).
I confess that I usually don’t mix characters from books on a loving fashion. I think: “oh, this boy and this girl would rock ass being on the same school/work team” or “oh my, those two would be awesome buddies”, but never with love in the middle. Now I have to, haha!
I guess I would love to see Eadlyn, from The Heir, by Kiera Cass, struggling with Teag, from Secrets and High Spirits, from Lou Harper, because I think Eadlyn needs some lessons.
I know what you’re thinking: but wasn’t Teag gay and all? Oh, yes, without any doubts and Bruce can tell you better than me, but the thing is that Teag is a control freak just like Eadlyn. It would be good for her ego to be put in her place more often than not by Teag. Or maybe both would kill each other’s to no ends and Bruce would have to attend to 35 boys. Either way, the outcome seems happy to me, hahaha! Besides, love born from hate is always hotter, haha!
But if Audrey asked me the same question on movie matters, my answer would pop out in two seconds: Jack Frost, from Rise of Guardians, and Elsa, from Frozen. Is she older? Yes. Is he immature? Yes. Are both totally cool without love? Yes. BUT THEY WOULD BE AMAZING FOR ME, SO I DON’T CARE!
See? The artwork is from Deviantart, but proves well my point ❤ Dreamworks, Disney, PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN! Hahaha!
That’s it, guys! Thanks for reading and, next Monday, new topic!
Hello, there! I know, it’s been a while, but I’m on my last semester at college and my graduation is on DECEMBER. You can imagine that my life is a mess right now, haha!
Anyway, let’s talk about September! It was a more or less book month for me, as I am on the middle of a major slump, thanks to the books that I have to read for my dissertation – I’m two chapters away from being ready! I can’t wait to finish it! – so I read in a good pace in the beginning of September and stopped in the middle of the month, reading only some mangas and a Disney Comic Book
My book haul was much better this month: I bought a total of 8 books: 4 paperbacks, 3 mangas and 1 comic book 😀 Check it out:
The Heir (The Selection #4) – Kiera Cass (review here!)
A Mídia nas Constituições do Brasil: Respeito e Desrespeito – Erasmo de Freitas Nuzzi (a Brazilian journalistic book, so I don’t know if I will be reviewing it or not after reading it, haha!)
2 Coloring books from Frozen 😉
volumes 3 and 4 of Wish, by Clamp
volume 23 of XXX-Holic, by Clamp
(now I have the whole Wish collection! Yay! *–*)
And my Halloween comic book from Disney ❤
I also like to thank (again for the thousand time) Lauren Bird Horowitz, as she sent me a paperback copy of her new novel, Shattered Blue (review here!), first book in The Light Series! ❤ Thanks forever! This was the first time an author sent me a physical copy of a book, because I life in Brazil, haha! It was so special that I cried…
The Bond Series (Bound by Deception, Bound to Him and Deliberately Unbound), by Ava March: 4 stars, review here!
manga Eerie Queerie!, volumes 1 to 3. [Update: review here!]
Yup, pretty disappointing. In October, I’m destined to have better numbers because I’m finishing my dissertation and I have to read about 8 books for that, more or less. So, Halloween’s month is going to rock hard!
That’s all, thanks for reading and I hope to be back soon with the reviews that I own… And stick around, because this week we have the monthly book releases list! *–*
