Mini guide for sexual terms and acronyms in Erotic Books for clueless pandas

*post recommended for mature readers, as we’re going to talk about sex*

Guys, can I just go straight to the point here? Let’s talk about sex in books.

let's go explore some shit

I love it, you love it, everybody loves it – of course, we all have our preferences, as erotic books are just one more gender or sub gender in our shelves. If you have been following me for a while or for a week or two, you may know I ALWAYS pend to male/male books when we talk about sex and steamy scenes, for example. It doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a good heterosexual sex scene or even a lesbian sex scene or even a ménage or an orgy scene.

The thing is, I must confess: I positively PANIC when I read a blurb and I find that soup letter of acronyms and really weird words that go far away from their original meaning to describe sexual stereotypes and situations. I don’t know if this is due the fact that this panda isn’t a native English speaker or if I just didn’t spend enough time with the cool panda kids to know my way around the sexual vocabulary, but it’s a given fact. I panic, I get frustrated, I try to google terms and, well, that is ALWAYS THE WORST THING. Apparently, sexual vocabulary is one of those things that you either know or not and end of discussion.

BUT. NO. MORE. Because this panda had enough.

Thinking of how much I struggle to understand many popular acronyms and terms, both in the heterosexual and the gay fields (I can’t promise in the lesbian and other genres, as I’ve read few erotic books in any other erotic category so far),

I DECIDED TO PUT TOGETHER A FREAKING DICTIONARY.

And then this mini guide was born.

So seat back, make yourself comfortable and grab your pens and notebooks. TODAY, WE LEAVE THE DARKNESS TOWARDS THE LIGHT.

Sorry about that, but let’s do this. This post has didactic purposes to enlighten us all around the erotic world of literature, so judging is off the table, ok? =) Most of these definitions come loosely from Urban Dictionary, my BFF for touchy definitions [you see what I did there], but I promise I have double-checked every term on other places as well! Even on porn sites. #journalisticpanda #huntinganswers

Bottom = to be the submissive partner or to receive penetration in the sexual gay act.

Top = to the dominating partner or the one who will penetrate in the sexual gay act.

Orgy = sex party with more than four individuals having sex at the same time, but not necessarily with all people involved in the act.

BBW = Big Beautiful Woman (or Women, depends on context)

Big Beautiful Woman (BBW) stands for women above the ‘socially promoted right weight’ and is now the political correctly term for overweighed beautiful women.

BDSM = Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Submission, Sadism and Masochism

“An overlapping abbreviation of Bondage and Discipline (BD), Dominance and Submission (DS), Sadism and Masochism (SM).” – Urban Dictionary

Bondage = the preference of having sex with one of the partners restrained; usually, the passive partner.

Bondage forms vary to simple handcuffs to a serious act with leather, ropes and chains. This can only be applied to consented sexual acts.

MILF = Mother I’d Like to Fuck

“Mothers, whether married, separated or divorced, that a male individual sees as physical attractive enough to want to have sexual intercourse with them. (…) A MILF is any mother that is sexually desirable.” – Urban Dictionary

GIFL = Grandmother I’d Like to Fuck

“Derived from “MILF” (Mother I’d like to fuck). Generally referring to a sexually attractive middle aged to elderly woman.” – Urban Dictionary

DILF = Dad I’d Like to Fuck

See the pattern? My research diverges a bit on this one – while many websites claims this definition is the heterosexual version of MILF, practical results shows this acronym to be more popular among gay audience.

Brat = in BDSM language, a submissive acting like an attention whore and trying to take out control from their master.

Squirting = when a woman is able to ‘ejaculate’ during her orgasm.

Further research indicates that this is a uncommon trait and it’s often mistaken by the need to pee right on the verge of the orgasm.

Young stud = a popular person (usually applied for men and to ‘butch’ lesbians [see bellow this definition]) that gets laid easily and is attractive-looking.

Butch Lesbian = woman that identifies herself with her born gender, expresses attraction for other females, but dresses and acts in ways more associated with men.

Breeding = a man that purposefully ejaculates inside his sexual partner; more common among gay audience for unprotected anal sex.

Milk Maid = woman that sucks her own breasts OR that produces breast milk during the sexual act OR uses a lot of ball play during a blowjob for a man.

My sources have not found common ground on this one, sorry!! But you got the idea, right? Context is everything, haha!

Cuckhold = a man who enjoys the fact that his female sexual partner cheats on him and gets aroused at witnessing the act.

Gouine = term applied for people who like to have sex without penetration – aka. for people that like to stop in the foreplay; more common among lesbian audience.

The word itself means ‘lesbian’ in French, but gouinage, that is the act of having sex without penetration or achieving orgasm during foreplay and end the sexual encounter there, has been applied to all sexual identities.

Creampie = when a man ejaculates inside a woman’s vagina or anus; also used for the moment when said semen quits both places.

Sugar Daddy = a man that exchanges valuables for sex with both male and female partners. Usually applied to older man.

Bareback = unprotected sex between two males that not necessarily will end in internal ejaculation.

Cunniling = the act of performing oral sex in women, targeting the vagina.

Ebony sex = when there is at least one person with dark colored skin involved in the sexual act.

Twink = Teenage, White, Into No Kink; a boyish-looking gay male.

This word is actually an acronym to cover up the heterosexual ‘hot blonde’ stereotype in the gay universe.

Shemale sex = when there is at least one partner involved in the sexual act that is a transgender man with breast implants, but that still keeps his penis.

DP = double penetration.

Double penetration (DP) means that the bottom, regardless of their genre, will receive two cocks or two dildos in the same place. When applied to women, context is a bliss, as it can mean that she will take one man with her vagina and another with her anus OR both at the vagina OR both at the anus.

Bear = large man with a lot of body hair and muscles. May be chubby, but it’s not required.

According to research, despite the terminology being more popular in the gay universe, this is highly used in heterosexual book blurbs as well.

Voyeur = the individual who likes to watch sexual interactions without necessarily taking place in them.

Basically, someone who enjoys watching sex in the same room it’s being made.

Facial = when men ejaculate in their partners’ faces, regardless of the partners’ genders.

Handjob = when the individual (can be applied to men and women) stimulates a man’s penis using only their hands until the male comes.

Blowjob = when the individual (can be applied to men and women) stimulates a man’s penis mainly with their mouths. Hands usually are used for support in the act as well.

You know, just to clarify the difference, haha!

Solo Girl/Boy/Whatever = masturbation act for a camera.

Fetish = sexual fantasies involving objects and situations that aren’t directly related to the sexual act.

For example, feet fetish = people like to get off being stimulated by their partners’ feet. Office encounter fetish = having sex at the office. And so it goes – there’s no limit for fetishes!

Rimming = the act of performing oral sex to the partner’s anus.

According to Google sources, tongue penetration during rimming isn’t a must for the term to apply to the situation.

Fingering = when a girl’s sexual partner (regardless of their sex) uses their fingers into her vagina and anus to pleasure her.

A fuller definition includes a hard lesson to never ever forget the clitoris.

Cumshot = when a male ejaculates outside his partner’s body, regardless of their genre.

Daisy chain = a situation where more than three people are orally pleasuring each other at the same time, regardless of their genres, in a chain motion.

“Partner (A) is sucking off or eating out partner (B) who is sucking off or eating out partner (C) and so on until the final person is sucking off or eating out partner (A).” – Urban Dictionary

Bukakke = when several men ejaculate in the mouth of the same female partner.

Research to whether the term also applies for a man in the woman’s position turned out to be inconclusive, but leans towards the negative.

Gang bang = more than 3 men have sex with the same partner.

This only applies to consented sex – if the submissive partner didn’t allow it, it’s gang rape. Whether the men involved ejaculate or not inside the submissive partner and the submissive partner’s genre are irrelevant to the definition.

Fisting = to insert a fist inside a vagina or an anus for sexual pleasure.

Similar to fingering, but not exclusive to female partners. Also, requires way more patience and lubricant.

Hardcore/rough sex = intense and animalistic sex, with no or few traces of intimacy and love.

Jock = athlete-like man who uses his status to get laid.
