“I’ve been dying to get you alone all day.” His nose was pressed against my neck as he breathed me in.

Fluttering my eyes, I held him close, leaning my head against his. “I’ve been dying to be right here … all day.” This was where I could breathe easy. This was where my safe place resided. But Adam was leaving on a flight first thing in the morning. Now that his recovery was ahead of schedule, he was returning to Kansas, and while I had every intention of joining him, Marco’s trial was holding me here.
